My Fav Things and Colour Q
Sorry its been a while since I last posted, had a hectic week, hubs had an operation so have had to waste valuable craft time with being a nursemaid....pfft Men.
So this card was made using the sketch over at the My Favourite things blog and I used the colour combo over at the Colour Q for the pallett.
I stamped the image from the So Very Grateful on some watercolour card using stayzon Ink then using my marker pens and aqua pen to colour in the image before cutting it out using my oval cutters. I also used the same image to stamp a background on the base card just to give it a bit of a lift. I cut out a piece of Costal Cabana using the Label collection framelits. I used a piece of old DS papers from last year at the bottom and some of the super gorgeous ruffled ribbon underneath. The sentiment was stamped in Basic Grey and cut out using one of the thinlits. I am not sure if I like the sentiment where it is.
I used these products
Labels collection So Very Grateful Coastal Cabana card stock, Ink and ruffled ribbon
Basic Gray Ink Calypso Coral Ink and Card stock Thinlit
Aqua Pens Watercolour Paper
I also used More Mustard in place of Apricot Appeal as this seemed my nearest colour.

My Favourite Things
I love this sketch this week at the My Favourite Things Challenge Blog and I knew that I wanted to do a bright cheerful card. I have moved on a bit from the Retro papers although they are still a big favourite of mine and I am well into the Kaleidiscope papers. I am also loving the Starburst Sayings stamp set and matching framelits which I have to confess I didn't think much of to begin with. What a fool. I am loving them and am really hoping that we get some new matching stamps next season.
I used the following to make this card
Card - Basic Grey, Crushed Curry, Whisper White, Strawberry Crush
DS Paper - Kaleisidscope
Stamps - Starburst sayings and Best Birthday Wishes
Ink - Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry
Starburst Framelit

Colour Q Meets Cas(e) This Sketch
I decided to crack into an old stamp set for the is one. This was one of my fav sets and I was disappointed when it was discontinued but as I have never got rid of any of my stamps I still get it out and have a play every now and then. I decided to use the sketch at Cas(e) this sketch and I am not sure why but rather than going for a frame like stamp to match the sketch I decided to use the flowers as a frame and the Colours at Colour Q this week were pefect for what I wanted.
For the main image I first stamped the image with Stayzon Ink and then flipped it and did the other way up leaving a gap between them for the sentiment. I coloured the images using my blender pen and aqua pen. I then stamped the sentiment between the two whilst praying to the craft gods that the sentiment was straight and centred lol. I cut the image out using one of the label collection framelits and then piecered round the edge using the Festive Paper piercing set. Finally I daubed around the edge using basic grey.
Stampin up products used for this card
Card - Island Indigo, Whisper White
Ink - Island Indigo, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Basic Grey, Early espresso and Stayzon
Fancy Fan embossing folder
Stamps - Bordering on Romance, Sentiment from Apocarthy Art
Aqua pen and Blender Pen
Festive Paper Piercing set

Verve and Colour Me
Phew it has been a busy weekend but I have managed to make a couple of cards in between it all as well as making up some bags of choccies out of old stock of DS papers for our up coming church fete. I am also just a bit excited. I submitted a set of cards to a Cardmaking magazine a few weeks ago and they asked to see them. Now past experience has told me not to get to excited about this, but this time they have asked me to sign a contract and submit instructions, not sure if this means they are going to publish or I am closer than I have been before.
Anyway I have made this card using the sketch over at Viva La Verve which I paired with the Colour Me challenge blog. I

Case Study and Runway Inspired
What a great day it is today, sun is shining and even though we are into Autumn the weather is still pretty mild. I love Australia just saying. My Chooks (chickens) are great I just love them to bits. They come running to see me after work how cute is that. Today we are going to a BBQ I have made a delicious but easy chocolate mousse for dessert, not my best result but still tastes super yummys and takes minutes. I am using some little paper Cup cake cases to serve them in and they look so cute. Any one interested in a super easy super quick mousse recipe Click HERE, little tip mix melted chocolate in quick otherwise it starts to set and leaves it a bit bitty but I shall tell them its little chocolate chips lol.
I am so happy with the way it turned out, I doesnt photograph as good as it looks in real life, I really must google how to make the cards look their best in a photo.
So for this card I used the following products from stampin up
Card - Saharah Sand, Very Vanilla and Black
Ink - Saharah Sand, Basic Black
DS Paper - Modern Medley
Stamps - Parlour Prints, Chalk Talk
Framelits - Chalk Talk
Some of the new twine with silver
Vintage faceted button

The Sweet Shop Challenge and Stampin Celebration
We have a few days for rain rain rain but today it finally clear and and the sun is shining. Having said that I have managed to make another 4 cards today as it was still raining this morning. I have found yet another new challenge for you today. I can't remember where I stumbled upon it but as I find most of my inspiration comes from challenges, more is def more in this case.
Of course I still love the older challenges and one of my favourite ones is The Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, I think I have been doing this one for a long time maybe 4 or 5 years. I get very disappointed when challenges close down, especially the ones I have done for a long time. I also used the newly discovered inspirational photo challenge from Stampin Clelebration as my pallet.
For this Card I used the following products from Stampin Up
Card - Wisteria Wonder, Very Vanilla, Water colour card, Crumb Cake
Ink - Concorde Crush, Gumball Green, Baked Brown Sugar, Sahara Sand
Fancy Fan embossing folder
Stamp - Happy Water colour and a very old hostess one that I still LOVE I think it's the font.
Decorative label punch
Paper is from the In colour Paper Stack

Fusion meets Colour Q
Card number 4 and this one I used the sketch/inspration photo from the Fusion Challenge which happened to fit perfectly with the colour combo at Colour Q. The only difference was that I don't have Cool Carribean so I substituted this with Tempting Turquoise as this seemed to be the nearest fit. I love the shaped bottom from Fusion, It just adds that little bit of sculpture to the card. I also cheated a little bit because I so wanted to add some of the frilled ribbon but it only comes in the incolours so had to use the Baked Brown Sugar. Isn't it cute and fits so perfectly.
For this Card I used the following products from stampin Up
Card - Starfruit, Whisper White
Ink - Tempting Turquoise (sub for Caribean), Crumb Cake
Pretty Prints embossing folder
Stamp - Beautifully Baroque

Case Study
Card number 3 and still no retro.. going good. It's been a while since I played along at the Case Study Challenge but today I felt a bit inspired by the great Case Card from Danielle Flanders. I took my inspiration from the colours mostly with a hint of the layout and I knew I wanted to use the Beautifully Baroque stamp. My only regret is using the writing stamp on the background.
For this card I used the following products from Stmapin up
Card - Blushing Bride, Whisper White
Pretty Print embossing folder
Ink - Daffodil Delight, Basic Black and Blushing Bride
DS Paper - Watercolour Wonder
Basic Pearls
